
Our founder and Chief Word Nerd is Patricia L. Arnold, a four-time Emmy-nominated journalist who was a beat reporter or news show producer in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Dallas. In addition to her long career in TV newsrooms, Pat has taught English and journalism in Chicago public high schools and two colleges.
In her private life, Pat has always been actively engaged in community service. She currently serves on the boards of the Male Mogul Initiative and the Mayor Harold Washington Legacy Committee and volunteers with AARP Illinois, Women Employed, Toastmasters, and the DuSable Park Advisory Council. Today’s Chicago Woman recognized her passion for voluntarism and named her one of “100 Women Making a Difference.”
Pat is past vice president of the National Association of Black Journalists-Chicago Chapter, founding president of the Twin Cities Association of Black Journalists, and a Golden Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
She has authored two books on a topic she calls “common-sense spirituality.”
